We are definitely in a buyers market and there are some real "steals" awaiting the buyer who is ready. With sunny days to relax at the Pawleys Island beach, an average temperature of 65-75 degrees, many award winning golf courses and many gourmet restaurants – are there doubts why so many people never leave after a weekend of vacationing in the Pawleys Island or Litchfield area? They might have stayed in Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, Litchfield, Garden City, Surfside Beach or anywhere along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach. Like many folks I was lured to the area by miles of sandy beaches along Pawleys Island, perfect for families playing in the surf or enjoying a picnic. All of life stresses seemed to melt away under the warm glistening sun as the waves roll in. Everywhere you turn the streets in Pawleys Island are aligned with palm trees. In the spring Azaleas bloom profusely with a vivid display of colors. Hanging purple Wisteria gently sways from trees in the evening breeze. At night you can enjoy succulent local seafood cuisine, from boiled shrimp, oyster roast, Atlantic soft-shelled crabs, to hush puppies smothered in butter. Many meals are prepared from fish caught locally from the boats moored at our docks.
And don’t forget about the wonderful golf experience. Myrtle Beach isn’t called the “Seaside Golf Capital of the World” for nothing. It would be hard to find more unique, challenging and picturesque golf courses. Some of the courses in Pawleys Island are rated in the top ten in the Grand Strand. Among the designers of the courses are: Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Robert Trent Jones, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman, Gary Player, and Pete and P.B. Dye, here in Pawleys Island and the surrounding area.
